Paula Gabay is a visionary non-clinical art therapist based in the city of Irvine, California. Born amidst the spirited culture of Buenos Aires, Paula’s journey has been a tapestry woven with diverse threads of education and artistic exploration.
Her intellectual odyssey commenced with a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Belgrano in 2009. Fueling her thirst for knowledge, she embarked on an enriching sojourn in Paris, where the hallowed halls of Sorbonne unveiled the intricate tapestry of philosophy. The University of Lausanne beckoned, granting her profound insights into psychoanalysis and social psychology, while Jerusalem’s Institute of Jewish Studies illuminated the corridors of cultural understanding.
Paula has honed her craft through a myriad of creative endeavors. She painted the canvas of her aspirations at the Oil Painting atelier under the tutelage of Karina Kohoutek. The Yrurtia Museum’s sculpture studio molded her artistic sensibilities, while the rhythmic melodies of music and dance at Choreia Arts Studios resonated within her soul. Her sketches found life at the Fine Arts Center in Irvine.
Paula’s luminous path converged with the International Raoul Wallenberg Foundation in 2010. Here, she devoted herself to research, and imparting the indomitable spirit of Raoul Wallenberg’s altruism, empathy, and positive leadership to impressionable young minds.
Bridging her passions with finesse, Paula now brings her guiding light to others, helping them unearth their own inner resources. Through the medium of art, she facilitates transformative art therapy sessions and engaging creative workshops. Her expertise extends across individual and group platforms, both in-person and within the digital realm.
In Paula’s eloquent words, “Art is our mirror to self-expression, a gateway to crafting meaning, and a prism to refract the world in novel hues. In an era dominated by screens and algorithms, the need for a genuine connection with our inner essence becomes paramount. Art, in its myriad forms, offers solace, liberation, tranquility, and fresh vantage points to contemplate our existence.”
